>>5564709Then he slams both magical orbs into the crystal, both engulfing it as their magics merge. You watch as the light and dark magics swirl, mixing and merging together to form a solid grey orb in the air.
“Perfect.” he says, taking a step back and drawing the sliver of crystal out of his pocket. Holding it up in his right hand, he then calls out another spell. “Dark Magic: True Dark.”
And everything turns pitch-black. You can't see anything, only able to tell where your son is with your ki sense.
“Now to make this one whole. Light Magic: Light Absorbtion.” he says, then you see light. Radiating out from the crystal in his hand, rapidly being absorbed into the darkness. Then, to your shock, you see the rest of the crystal suddenly appear, recombined as if they were never apart. The moment the crystal is made whole, your son ends the spells. The world returns to normal, your son holding onto the new whole crystal. Which he hands over to you, giving you an explanation as he ends the spell of the grey orb, catching it with his telekinesis. “Can't have them touch, as they're the same matter and would try to recombine.”
He then drops the crystal with the cracked off portion still missing back into the chest, closing it then lifting the whole thing with his telekinesis before grabbing his sword.
“Looks like you've got things under control here, keep up the good work son.” you tell him, offering to take the box for him which he declines. You follow him back into the tower through the roof access, your son setting the box down beside a worktable covered in different small metal and crystal implements, stacks of glass jars in boxes lining one half of the room. “What are those?”
“Those? Oh, they're my Crystal Barriers.” he says, turning to the stacked boxes and pulling one of the round containers out. Which you can then see is filled with his magical crystals, somehow floating in the middle like the inside of one of your wife's Hellflower orbs. “I make and sell these to the lesser fighters of this world who need protection from monsters or people, making them shields of my magic just by breaking the bottle. Most things on this planet aren't strong enough to break one of my shields once it activates, so there is a high demand.”
“No wonder so many other factions want your help.” you say, your son turning thoughtful for a moment while looking back to the bottle. He then puts it back, hanging his swords on a pair of wall mounts before heading back down, you following him back to where Megumin and Meloka Wolbach are waiting.
