>>5427081Even though you’re the one who suggested heading towards the Steelport group, Skyfrost ended up being the one doing the talking. In a flash, you’re sent an invite link to the Steelport Alliance comms on Harmony
This is just in-quest Discord if you guys don’t remember.. Clicking on it opens up the program and instantly connects you to their channel. The entire call is highly organised, each individual squad being split into their respective channels while still being connected to the main shotcaller. This was one of Harmony’s most useful features, the ability to listen in on select channels without joining them, allowing for highly efficient lines of communications.
“Right, looks like they’re here.” Stormgale readies his weapon. “Boys! Get yourself ready for battle!”
You wonder if it's really okay for them to act on their own and assist you and Skyfrost, but no matter. The enemy was upon you, and leading the charge was Pighammer - that damned gauntlet user. He was one hell of an opponent this morning, and now that you're in cheaper gear, you're not sure how long you'll hold out if you duel him again.
This time, Stormgale took charge of the group.
"Skyfrost, split their team in two!"
"Eastern Fog, assist Skyfrost!"
"Distant Cloud, Veiled Leaf, to the left with me!"
“The rest of you…”
His calls are simpler than Skyfrost, whose every command is succinctly given with almost surgical precision. Yet, the Steelport players are no less efficient in their execution. You’re able to see it once more - the synergy of a well-organised group that’s been playing together for ages. It’s mesmerising, but this is not the time to be distracted.
You weave through the battlefield with your cheap and replaceable dagger-axe, freshly bought from the Ximen auction house. Stormgale’s strategy isn’t too convoluted. It’s the standard divide and conquer approach to group battles. First thing’s first; isolate the healers. Skyfrost has that covered, and in no time, the mages in your group manage to AOE down a decent chunk of those Ebonwill dogs.
On your end, you’re part of the team responsible for putting pressure on the frontlines, keeping the enemy tanks and melee DPS busy. Stormgale immediately uses [Shield Charges] on the nearest squishy - a standard light armoured sword user. However, the enemy tank, Deepspring Thorns, promptly intercepts, keeping the Steelport wave at bay.
“Stormgale, you little shit, piss off! This doesn’t concern you!” Deepspring Thorns’ bellows, his voice full of distortion.
“Of course it concerns me!” Stormgale replies. “You’re attacking one of our allies!”
