>>5461946I feel like east forest, myself at very least, have forgotten about the double movement cost in terrain features. My previous turn's movement was illegal unless there's a hidden rule that you can move into rough terrain if you have a single move point left. Not that I need it, I'll just remember the rules from now on.

Anyway, pending that ruling, I'll be drafting plans for the orderly retreat that may be called for in east forest's future. Map here shows our current positions in blue, enemies and tank traps in red, retreat plan in yellow. Additional insight welcome.
Base understanding is that an unopposed enemy gets fire positions on the center fork in as few as 5 turns, and our job is to prolong this period. Intel describes T-15 gun as "imprecise," suggesting ATK rating of 2 or worse. Faced with this rating, most units present are hit only on an 8 or 9+ if they have taken cover. Not odds we want to play for too long, but it gives us leeway to aim for softer targets just to take dice off the field. Hit 'em hard while we can.
If position becomes untenable, best plan for retreat I've got is forming an east-west line of veteran Recons anchored by D4 on the east, slowly backing and taking cover while Jaeger book it for a new fire position, say the ff line of forest. Sketchy, but tank traps may take some bite out of the pursuit. No further plans until it's shown we can reach this point.
No reasonable positions for J-2 to hit the northeast approach. Probably position to receive the northern approach as they skirt the treeline. Just need the nearby T-16s out of our hair first.
