Next up are several red bugs, flapping about at impressive speeds. They take notice of you as you pass. After defeating so many Digimon, they're satisfied with the data they've gained, and most are willing to ignore two lone travelers. However, a pair of them swoop down on you, their antennae buzzing with electricity. Porcupamon is forced to act.
<span class="mu-s">"MADNESS BROACH!"</span>
He flings his mass of spikes, deleting one before it can make contact. The other one is shot in the wing by you, and it crash-lands in a pile of shattered brick. After that, most of them leave you alone, figuring that you're not worth the trouble. But you do get one interloper who seems incensed by the attack.
<span class="mu-s"><span class="mu-r">"HEY!"</span></span>
You and Porcupamon look up at a building, where a small figure is lit up by the vivid blue light coming from above. Its scarf billows heroically, and its large claws rest on its hips.
<span class="mu-s"><span class="mu-r">"This is our turf! Get your hands off my friends!"</span></span>
<span class="mu-s"><span class="mu-r">KOKABUTERIMON- ROOKIE- INSECT- VIRUS</span></span>
<span class="mu-s">"Let's make this quick then, you little pipsqueak! Come on!"</span>
The creature leaps downwards, trying to get your partner with a flying kick. However, he's well-versed in that type of attack after using it twice as Astamon, so he raises his arms to block. Try as he might, he isn't able to stab the bug with his spikes as he guards against the blow, and the Rookie survives first contact. It lands in front of Porcupamon, who immediately nails it with a kick. The blue beetle skids backwards, its tough shell surviving the blow.
You almost try to shoot it, but you hear the sound of scuttling coming from behind you. When you turn to look, you see several spider-like Digimon trying to capitalize on the chaos and lunge for you. You busy yourself with blasting them, keeping the bugs off your back desperately.
"Don't take too long!" You order, clenching your teeth in mild panic as a spider leaps from above.
