>>5363364"Oh wow, that's amazing!" You exclaim, unable to help yourself from vocalizing your admiration of the new suit.
"Same amount of storage space with half the pockets." Matt grins, evidently proud of his new digs, and, just because he can, he flexes right into the hallway mirror.
Matt loads all manner of gear into his belt, including a couple of guns on a holster that you wouldn't have otherwise noticed that was built right into the belt. While it's obvious that Matt will have a far easier time retrieving Eddie's body, you know he's never one to go under-prepared, but you're pretty much left staring at the ceiling until he's done.
However, the sound of Matt's voice, coupled with a very-familiar, yet-ominous aura brings you back to reality.
"You might want to take this with you, by the way." He says, holding up a small box, the one that contains the Aurum Impulsum, and you're not sure what to say because all that stuff has done is cause other mutants grief in its brief yet terrible existence. "If one of you gets seriously hurt, it's the best chance you have at getting everyone out alive." Matt continues, seeming to sense your apprehension. "Aurum Impulsum does way more than just alter mutations, FYI."
"What about the memory loss and the mental problems?" You point out. "I don't want to make any more people like that."
"Either that, or, you know..." Matt need not say the consequence. "But don't think of it as something you 'have' to use on anyone-- it's more like an insurance in case things really do go to shit. Like someone's on-the-verge-of-dying kind-of insurance."
"Hmmm..." You're still not too sure about it.
So far as you've seen of Aurum Impulsum, all it has served to do is bring grief to anyone who's used it. Boleski, Julia, and even the Crux girls are all prime examples of that, and they will all be marred forevermore as a result of the procedures they'd undergone. Though, if it were a choice between keeping someone alive or letting them die, for you, the choice would be a no-brainer.
>You'll take one dose with you-- better not to put all your eggs in one basket.>A little excessive, in your opinion, but you'll take both doses.>You'd rather not take that stuff with you if you can help it. You can get by without it. >Ask Matt another question about the Aurum Impulsum (What?)>Write-in>(3/3)
