Something clicks in Alexis' head. <<span class="mu-b">"Only cares about money and viol- Oh god damnit."</span>> "Fuck. I already know one of those. Bennett. Him and that weird friend of his would just beat the shit out of each other with batons like it was nothing more than a handshake."
"Yep! Sounds like one!" Max says with a bit too much cheer. "So, guess you're going to have to earn their respect that way."
"Vannis? Well, they're fashionistas and trend seekers. If it can get them into the spotlight, no matter the cost, they'll do it. A lot of them go to A, C, or M-Corp for that reason. They <span class="mu-b">like brand new, weird stuff they haven't seen before.</span>"
[SEEKER OF THE CITY] Maybe she was trying to get some Moonstones for some clothing line? But that doesn't make sense if she's working with L-Corp? They had a very uniform fashion sense.
"And Krakatoas? <span class="mu-b">We hold grudges.</span> That's probably our weakest aspect, haha." Max lets out an exhausted sigh that was clearly being held in for years. "A lot of my uncles and aunts and siblings also <span class="mu-b">care about the past WAY too much.</span> Expect a lot of my family to be very set in their ways. You, uh, probably already knew about that. With...you know."
"Yeah." You don't want to dredge up what happened in Avalon with her, especially since you mostly only know each other through Benjamin. Not really the right time or place for it. Before you have time to pry more into her about the families, a train FINALLY arrives at the station. The five of you quickly patch up your things and head onto the train before it leaves you behind.
Benjamin tosses you two small half-grey-half-crimson pills and some leftover rusted berries. You nod at him as you pocket them.

Once aboard, the train's doors slam shut as you begin your long, long trip to District 23. You sink into the shoddy, barely held together cushion of the seat you're sitting on. Casey and Alexis sit next to you while Benjamin and Max sit next to each other.
Your snowbound home disappears into the distance, leaving you with only the track you're riding on and for as far as you can see, the track you're on is built over a massive chasm. You never really took this route before so this is brand new to you. There's nothing but pure, endless darkness in the gap of the earth looming underneath your train.
Casey stares into the abyss with an odd smile on her face. "People keep saying it stares back, right? I wanna see it stare back. I wanna talk to it." She giggles, talking to nobody in particular. "I wonder. Does it like staring back?"
Alexis, rightfully so, scoots away from the weird yellow haired lady. "Guess I should've expected a lot of your associates to be like this."
