Stream of consciousness incoming:
Firstly, thank you to everyone who voted! I've been monitoring this thread like a hawk all day, and it's been an absolute joy to read all your posts and watch you all debate which route is the correct one. This is probably the most important vote in the Quest, and the one I was looking the least forward too. TH fans tend to be very passionate about what they think is the correct choice to make here. I was worried this would devolve into retarded shitflinging, but barring a few shenanigans at the end there, everyone laid out their arguments and thoughts in a coherent and sane manner. Thank you for that.
As I said, I've been reading this thread all day, though I didn’t want to chime in on anything. The last thing I wanted was for my word to influence changing anyone's vote. Personally speaking, I didn’t care which side won. I have ideas planned out for both routes, so it’s not as though one winning over the other would put me in a bind or anything. I think it’s very interesting that at the start of this quest, way back to a year ago, people seemed very adamant we’d be going Crimson Flower. I think that attitude was prevalent up until the events with Monica, where a major shift in attitude occurred. That event in particular had been something I knew I had wanted to do from almost the beginning. If you’ve played the game, one of the students that you need to rescue from the Demonic Beasts in that chapter is the same generic placeholder we were using for Blair back in Thread 1. That event changed a lot over the course of planning, before ending up as it did. If I had to attribute the change in direction to anything here, it seems it was that. I did my best not to lean the writing in one direction or the other, but present pros and cons for both. I actually think during the last month of activity, we were leaning more towards Empire if anything, what with Blair spending time with Bernadetta and Kate, as well as reaffirming her desire for knighthood with Ashe.
Personally speaking, I think there are perfectly valid arguments for Blair going either direction here. In regards to Crimson Flower, I want to give a shoutout to this anon in particular.
>>5290140Their arguments for why Blair would stay loyal to Edelgard were spot on. They’ve been paying attention, and they know their lore and presented it in an extremely compelling way. I don’t have anything to add that they didn’t already. I love reading your posts and I hope you stick around despite CF not winning.
