TalOS somehow felt the air of the room change, even with the blackstone that was held upon his chest to nullify it, upon saying those previous words. The source was Dorn, whose eyes looked towards the remains of his grandfather.
“You think the Emperor will die?” Dorn asked without further explanation or thoughts to muddy the waters.
“Someday we all will. We might be immortal to time but we are not immortal to blades.” the Primarch tapped on his armor, “Precautions are made and taken to avoid that fate. We cannot however make it zero because there are always larger creatures.”
TalOS felt a small shift from his brother as he spoke, “Then a foundation needs to be laid early even before our Father retires.”
“It would be for the best to build early, as you can see I have. I am sure there is a perfect balance that should be met between building worlds and conquest.” TalOS proposed as he gestured to the device, “If you conquer too fast you need to take time to consolidate and manage people. I will admit I suffer from this, but it is a joyful enjoyment if nothing else. I also make sure my assets are still operating with the Auxilia so that few items are wasted.”
“In the other you will have ruthless conquest.” Proposed Dorn who tightened his hands, “You are quick and expedient, but the moment a new enemy comes from the horizon you will lose the lands in an instant. You will be called a tyrant and warmonger, which evidence shows to be true.”
“There is a middle that needs to be had. I did not find it though.” TalOS lastly admitted, “I do not regret it though. My expansion was limited and so I filled it out just as our father did in the initial stage of the Crusade. Even as we speak my Domini are exploring the realm which is the Federation.”
Rogal gave a slow, thoughtful nod to those words, “It is only yourself who holds back to work on other projects.”
The once Emperor of Inwit took a few moments to think to himself, as if weighing the words, “What you have done for my Legion I cannot express in mere words but the same goes for yourself. What I ask of you, when a time comes, is that you join me in the Crusade for a year so that you can keep your mind wetted with combat. It is not now, but I expect it to be in a reasonable interval.”
He seemed hesitant now, knowing what he was asking was a sort of hypocrisy of what he earlier said. So he placed another thought forward, “I worry that if a dire situation were to arise, that you will be too divorced from war that an error will occur.”
