“Dad, c'mon. Something's clearly bothering you.” he says, walking over and standing beside you. “What happened when she stopped time before leaving?”
“I'm not sure.” you tell him honestly, turning and looking away from him back out towards the dark sea. “I need to spend some time and think through some things.”
“I understand. If you need me, let me know.” he says, then with a chuckle adds. “I was up with Kazuburo anyways, trying to let Megumin get some sleep.”
“Take care of them.” you say to him, remembering her parting words. “Cherish your family, son.”
“...Right.” he replies after a moment's silence, knowing that something's up but also knowing that you're not going to tell him until you're ready. So he leaves after giving you a nod of understanding, using his Instant Transmission to teleport back to his home. Leaving you alone with the darkness, the sounds of the waves, and your own thoughts. You think back over everything she said, how things keep happening the same way over and over again. But something about that doesn't add up. If things kept playing out, why is there only one Berserker Soul you can reach out to? What happened to the others? Is it still connected to Divine Dragon Force? But if that's the case, then Divine Dragon Force, having come from another reality and binding itself to you, should ALSO connect with the other Berserker Souls it had been part of before as well.
And then there's Mechikabura. He claims to have only survived a single reset of the universe, but if that's true and he only survived once what happened before? Is it some sort of repeating pattern, this reality and the previous playing out one after another for eternity? But then why? If she knows how everything plays out, why wouldn't the Goddess of Time CHANGE how events play out? Prevent this cycle from continuing, and allowing reality to go past this point. But then it hits you, an answer so obvious its simple:
She resets everything each time she's about to lose control. She would rather erase countless lives and realities, all of time just to rebuild it again and remain on top. Nothing else makes sense to you but the desire to remain in power, no matter the cost. Everything suddenly makes a whole lot more sense. She's abusing her powers to keep herself in control, no matter the consequences. It all comes down to the Supreme Kai of Time, no Chronoa herself. It's all about her.
