… No. It isn’t.
Before you do something monumentally stupid, you shut your eyes tight and start breathing through your mouth, repelling the masochistic pleasure of contemplating and smelling a forbidden meal. This helps you regain control of yourself... some of it, at least.
“You… you okay?” Ruby’s scared voice is a faint echo in the storm taking place inside your head...
“G-got something in my eye, that’s all” you mutter the strength to say in Bunnench. “Hope you don’t mind I keep it closed for a while.” You smile and continue talking with your eyes closed. It’s easier when you’re not looking at her directly. “Uhmm, by the way… it was nice of you to offer help to the humielets. Don’t let their ingratitude get to you, okay?”
She remains silent for a moment before responding with a jumpy, embarrassed voice. “It’s… i-it’s nothing really! Just doing my best to keep this fortress from crumbling down and killing us all, c-cause that's what a good servant would do, right?! Help the humiele- I mean dwarves in their tasks! Hah hah!” Hmm. Looks like she’s not used to receiving compliments.
“By Ragnar's beard...” you hear one of the guards say, “That gnoll is speaking with the rabbette! I thought their kind couldn't restrain themselves from killing them on sight!”
“Hmph! The savage will chomp on her face anytime now. Wait for it!” Kholgarsh remains suspicious of you. It’s almost like he WANTS you to lose your composure, but you won’t give him that pleasure.
