There are pros and cons to running something next year. If I could cement it into a routine of small effort, it could be good for me by obligating me to stick to the routine. If it is too much of a time sink, then it wouldn't hold up and actually make things worse.
Dusk Elves was my best experience with players (pic related) but it was originally intended to field test a Civilization system. It ended up clunky, mismatched, too swingy. And the intimate focus on the characters clashed with the rapid development of their civilization. As one anon pointed out, the advancement rate didn't make much sense.
I loved that Elven tribe but I'm not sure I'd restart it as I didn't have a direction and I'm not sure what I'd get from it.
