>>6310247>Tristain: 56/72 HP>“Fine, we’ll go left then.” You say, uncorking one of the concoctions that had been sitting on your belt for goddess knows how long. You hadn’t had a chance to heal, and the way things were looking, it felt as though you’d be unable to rely on any sort of restoration that did not come from yourself. Downing the bottle in one swig, you use your torch spell to illuminate the left path, and take the charge in leading the way. Nothing out of the ordinary jumps at you. Just more waist deep water that you are forced to wade through. You begin to wonder if you’d done the correct thing in listening to Butch, when suddenly a noise that seems to be coming through the walls alerts you.>“What was that?”You and Butch stop in your tracks, the sound of rippling water fading. You both glance towards your right, where the noise was coming from. Through the stone wall before you, you could faintly make out the sound of something skittering across the water on the opposite path. Something that sounded as though it had many legs. Butch looks at you with a grin.
“See? Told you.”
>“Yeah, fuck that. Let’s pick up the pace.”You and Butch continue hurrying down the left path, until eventually, you’re able to make out this floor’s warp panel, completely submerged under the water. Thankful to no longer have to wander through the darkness in this disgusting ooze, you happily step onto it, eager to see the next hell this tower throws you into.
>Floor 5>Turn 5/40You are once again thrust into a hot climate, though one that was not nearly as hellish as the volcano from earlier. You open your eyes to find a lush green jungle. Massive trees and abundant greenery covered the landscape, and the air was thick with humidity. You begin to sweat uncomfortably in the heat.
“Least it doesn’t stink.” Butch says. “This is where that Conrad guy got taken out, right? Wonder where that Floor Guardian that got him is?”
You begin to wonder that yourself, when from the corner of your eye, you see someone familiar. It was Saoirse. She was hiding behind a large tree, and staring at you with wide eyes. She points you towards another nearby tree, seemingly beckoning you to take cover. Suddenly, your combat intuition grabs you. Hastily dropping to the jungle ground, an arrow sails over your head, embedding itself in a nearby branch.
>SPD x LCK Roll Success>“Shit! There’s an archer trained on us, watch out!”You shimmy over to the tree Saoirse had pointed out, while Butch goes the opposite direction. Another arrow just barely misses you as you throw yourself behind cover.”
“Wow, good stuff…” Saoirse calls out.
Getting a good look at her, you notice a wound on her right shoulder. Though she’d drenched it in Concoction, you could tell from the way she was wincing that it hurt something bad. Like you, she was covered in soot and filth from the prior floors.
