>The edge. Hi-Commandramon wanted you to enter there and start cutting your way into the middle. That way, you'll be lightening the load they have to deal with as the advance force. However, while you're clearing space, they'll show up and trouble you for a while, until he can convince them to back down. You'll get a variety of Digimon Rookies coming in, and lots of scan material, but they won't be particularly powerful.
You’ve selected a console on the outskirts of the district, close to the greater Network direction that the Digimon will be deployed from. When you look up, you see a Cargodramon flying overhead. They must have reinforcements on this end, to counter any Digimon who run into the city. That means your escape might be jeopardized, so you’ll need to be careful later.
“Let’s enter from here. We’ll clear things out, like we agreed on.”
<span class="mu-s">”Gotcha. Charge your gun the moment we get in, Capisce?”</span>
“Will do.”
You jump through the rift after enabling all your VPNs and necessary protocols. You’re immediately shunted into the partition, and you’re temporarily blinded by the color of the sky.
Above you is the usual expanse of blue, many degrees too saturated compared to the natural wonder you’ve seen in pictures of Earth. You can’t tell whether the city looks better or worse with a sky this bright.
And speaking of the city, it immediately becomes clear why these Digimon are such a problem. Entire buildings are covered with plant matter and foliage overgrowth, winding around them and feeding off streams of data. You see cuboids that would be partitions in the surface world, crumbled and cratered by stray attacks. Despite the chaos, there are still numerous structures that have glowing streams of data emanating from their centers, forming multicolored webs that stream across the ultramarine sky and congregate by the tower.
<span class="mu-s">”Woah. This is the wildest place I’ve seen yet.”</span>
“… It looks even more tangled than the campgrounds.“ You marvel.
This is as close as you can get to nature in the City. DarkTyrannomon’s Digimon have terraformed the whole place to match their preferences, wreaking havoc on the carefully curated data distribution systems in the process. By sheer coincidence, your entry spot is a couple of streets down from the dead billboard you observed this morning. Digimon are swarming the data font that’s streaking INTO it, consuming the information before it can be displayed. You see the multicolored bodies of sinuous shapes wrapped around the new growth.
“Doesn’t it remind you of something?”
<span class="mu-s">”The sewers. Yeah.”</span> Phascomon says, examining a bush carefully.
Just like the sewers, the sterile architecture has been given new textures and shapes. You’re immediately hit with regret that you’ll be working to destroy this. It’s authentic. All of it.
Your sense of wonder is interrupted by a high-pitched cackle.
<span class="mu-s"><span class="mu-r">”A human!”</span></span>
