Quoted By:
Last age, the daughters of the half-vampire twins married scions of their sister bloodline; they themselves were descended from the Fourth Rex, and the men they married were descendants of the First Rex. With this rejoining of the distant bloodlines, the wedded pairs bred prodigiously, each producing three children; a son, a daughter, and a son in the exact same order. Even though the stigma of thirdborn sons surrounded both families, they grew up healthy and strong, all with stunning stark-white hair and pale skin. The first two children of the descendant of the free-spirited half-vampiric brother were twins, and they both have grown up in this age to be prominent leaders of the community, exemplars of our civilization. Fiercely competitive, they both were in a prime position to be the new leader of our civilization, the coveted role of the Tenth Rex (or Regina).
In the end, the male scion won the competition, and was selected as the 10th Rex. His twin sister, ever by his side, became an accomplished Diplomat, a Great Person of the age. Their brother, meek and unnoticed, is easily lost in the long shadows his exemplary siblings cast. The other three children descended from the more serious-minded half-vampiric brother, while still notable and contributing members of society, are not as relevant to the larger goings-on of this age.
The 10th Rex was crowned in a great ceremony presided over by the Crimson Serpent, the immortal naga who guides and advises our people and whom our people worship and pay tribute to (ever reluctantly on his part).
