Upon the island before one would be able to reach the mighty mountains that stretched towards the skies there were plenty of forest which stretched part ways up towards their peaks.
Lucian found these forests were not the same as those on the mainland of Albion. Perhaps it was because the forests were not being used by the forces of Chaos, but the canopy allowed light to navigate through the leaves and dance upon the forest floor.
The Knight’s eyes were constantly searching for signs of some prey. A creature of some variety that would placate the tastes of a dragon.
Yet was it such meat that Dragons enjoyed?
Shellalli was not with him, the Grail Knight went at this problem alone with only his scythe as his fellow. There was no problem with that though for Lucian did not need someone to cover him or protect his back. Lucian could feel the world around him curling and moving around him, all of those smaller beasts looking upon him with wonderous eyes.
After all, it was not unreasonable that even the denizens of a Forest would be awe struck by the presence of a Grail Knight. While some theories placed that such creatures were ultimately soulless and thus not requiring the prayers of Morr, they were still with enough mind to see something that was far greater than they would ever be.
Yet a Dragon was not like they. Simple creatures who had no mind of their own. As all tales involving Dragons went, they were vastly intelligent creatures who with effort could speak the tongue of man. They could get simple meats whenever they could with a simple effort of flying over the heads of all beasts. For this fact man has suffered, tales of Dragon and Griffin taking sheep from their pens with ease.
So a thought began forming within the mind of Lucian. As his eyes glanced upon a herd of mountain goats foolishly standing closer to the forest than they should have, the Knight made his approach.
