Experimentally, you tried to create an airtight web sac while submerged. The web construct was a lot…gooier than you’d planned, but it was still usable. Within the web sac, you placed a bundle of explosive barbs and ignited them. The effect was an impromptu underwater flare that used the web fluid as fuel as it sank down into the murky depths.
A large shadow shifted somewhere deep below, briefly illuminated the scarred flesh of the sea beast. Once you’d confirmed that it had taken the bait, you turned around and swam towards the surface at a staggering pace. As it turns out, your superhuman speed and agility comes in handy when you’re underwater too.
The bottom of the Verdant Voyager came up to meet you, and you allowed yourself to feel a brief glimmer of hope. That was almost immediately squashed when you felt your spider sense flare up!
You quickly brought your hands behind your back, palms facing out, as you released a mass of explosive barbs into the water. A moment later, you were propelled out of the water and into the air with the use of your controlled explosion! You heard a sickening <span class="mu-s">snap</span> as something else broke through the water’s surface to meet you, only for its jaw to snap shut on empty air.
You landed on the side of the ship, scrambling away from the croc that hadn’t halted his dogged pursuit. But before it got a chance to jump out at you again, its momentum was suddenly halted by several leathery tendrils rising up out of the sea. Three familiar serpent-like heads breached beside Tick Tock, sinking their razor sharp teeth into its tough hide. The Croc snarled and spun into a death roll in an attempt to shake its new opponent, but the Strafe clung to it like its life depended on it. Most likely because it did.
At that moment, you saw another ship sailing towards you in the distance. It was the Gambler’s Guess! And judging from what had just happened, you had a decent idea of who was on it.
<span class="mu-g">“Give me your hand!”</span> said a frantic Anastasia as she leaned over the railing.
You crawled up and took it, allowing her to pull you up onto the deck. You glanced back down at the intertwined terrors, wondering what you should focusing on. Tick Tock was vulnerable right now, but so was Hook and his crew.
