>>5175361>“Nice try, but I really like Ashe. We’ve been through a lot together. I can’t imagine anyone else I’d want to go up there with.”Dorothea smiles. “In that case, good luck up there kid. You’re gonna need it.”
The day of the White Heron Cup arrives. You and Dorothea spend the day getting ready. Or rather, Dorothea does. You’re quickly put on a dress from back home and make sure your hair is okay, while Dorothea spends hours getting ready, meticulously going over every detail of her hair, nails and makeup. You help her out as best as you can, though it’s not as though you have any experience in the matter.
The White Heron Cup takes place within the great hall of the Monastery. You manage to get a good place to view the competition at the front of the crowd, where your height won’t be an issue. The rules of the competition are simple enough. One student from each house will have a few moments to demonstrate their dancing in front of a panel of three judges. The judges for this year’s competition include Professors Manuela and Alois and Shamir, two members of the Knights of Seiros.
The competitors come out and you see Dorothea flanked by the students chosen from the other houses. You’ve worked together before with Annette and Ignatz and hope the best for them, but it’s clear that you want your best friend to win the Cup.
The chatter in the hall comes to a close as Archbishop Rhea and Seneschal Seteth enter the hall, flanked by the Knights. After a few words from the two of the, the contest begins.
Annette begins the competition by performing a smooth, fluid dance, much like the waltz that Dorothea showed you the other day. The crowed seems captivated by her movement, though frankly, you find it a bit boring to watch her perform the moves without a partner to support her.
Ignatz goes next. The boy always seemed a bit of a dork to you, but you had to admit he can move quite well. A fact that shouldn’t surprise you so much, given that you’ve seen him in action during live combat. He finishes his solo performance, and up next comes Dorothea.
She’s clearly the more experienced of the three, and it doesn’t take long for her to dazzle both the judges and the crowd. Unlike the two before her, Dorothea performs an energetic and exciting dance that livens up the atmosphere. Once her dance is over and the judges go into their deliberations, it doesn’t take long for them to declare Dorothea as the winner of the White Heron Cup. With her victory, the ball now begins in earnest, with students coming out to the floor in a wave of pairs.
You want to congratulate Dorothea for the job well done, but she’s currently flanked by several students and professors all wishing her congratulations on the job well done. As you turn around, you bump into Ashe.
