>>5808355>>5808358I've been so fucking excited ever since they announced Ultimate Spider-Man coming back. Elseworlds are usually the only interesting stories in cape comics these days, because they have no status quo, and are subject to lasting changes. Shit actually matters, and the writing for the characters is actually consistent.
Mainline Spider-Man will almost always be a "down on his luck loser" that can't hold a job, can't maintain a stable relationship, and can't raise a family. Continuity and canon are completely worthless in my eyes, and I'd much rather see my heroes grow, develop, and eventually retire. I feel like the "true fans" are genuinely unhinged for wanting Peter to suffer in limbo as a 20-somthing year old for all eternity.

I’m the Huntsman of the Desperados, and that giant storm cloud is my buddy Sandman. Feel free to hire our services another time if you’re ever in a pickle. I don’t have the website set up yet, but we’re getting there.”>”As much as I’d love to stay and chat, I think we should move this party someplace else.” (Have Van teleport the group away)>”This is Bastion, and she’s our key to bringing down Doom with her anti-magic shield.">"Now with all the kids safe, I'd hope to first go back and allow you to finish that frequency disruptor thing Sam talked about.">"The plan is to then just teleport before Doom's nose, disable his magic, disable his bots, Sandman as a force of nature outside, and defeat him as quickly as possible.>"I hope that doesn't sound too optimistic.">”We have a squirrel scout network and people managing it, plus the Helicarrier has landed but should still be functional. If there are others in S.H.I.E.L.D. or the city that can help with the disruptor then we can reach out and see if we can grab them quick.”
