You'll happily brave the dangers of the night if it means you can arrive home a day early and surprise your family. As it turns out, you don't encounter any brigands or creatures of the night on the road, but just before the intersection that splits the main road you happen upon a small group consulting a map by torchlight. The group is composed of four men and two women. The leader is a tall, fair-haired man, with a long fair beard, and an easy smile of very white teeth. He wears a small shield on his waist and wields a winged spear, the kind sometimes used for hunting boar. His companions are a sullen, mousy man with bow slung on his shoulder, a bald thuggish looking fellow with an iron-headed club, a nervous looking Suthermann, and finally a woman in long flowing white robes possessing a very graceful deportment, attended by a younger girl, silent, also in white robes, though not so refined as her mistress.
The woman in the robes spots you and points you out to the tall man. And very soon they are hailing you to help them find the house of the reeve of Hobley. The leader introduces himself as Odneyn, while the woman (who does not yet introduce herself) assures you that they have no ill intentions, neither towards you nor the reeve. In fact, the reeve has hired them for a job--for which they are already late to the initial meeting (comments the mousy man). Since you seem to be heading in that direction, they wonder if you are familiar with the area and might be able to point them to the right house.
