I'm putting together combat system. I came up with this:
Describe your action, roll 1d6, check total:
>1-3 Personal Harm
>4-5 Local Success and Personal Harm
>6-7 Local Success
>8+ Local Success and Global Success
Additionally, if the die is 1 take one Harm. If the die lands on a 6 get one Local Success.
Also:
Synergy/Initiative bonus: Add +1 to your roll if you reply to fellow player and describe how are you helping/following up on their action. If you are the first or second to post and have no one to mention, get +1 as Initiative bonus.
Push: You can choose to take one Harm and add +1 to your roll.
Preparation: As you are waiting for GM to post the next scene you can describe how you are dealing with aftermath of current scene/how are you preparing for the next scene. If you did, the next time you roll you can choose to either add +1 to that roll or prevent one Harm.
tldr the entire thing is decided by 1d6 plus couple +1 bonuses. I think it is simple enough but isn't 1d6 too random? How to make this better without overcomplicating it.
