>>5832184Though what worries Katrana is the fact that Edwin VanCleef has taken the remaining Stonemason's with him and went into hiding in Westfall where he has apparently unified and strong armed local bandits and thugs into joining him. Katrana is not sure about what his plans are, but she knows that he wants vengeance and is ready to use violence to achieve his goals. Even though Stonemason's are out of Stormwind City, they are going to cause issues to the Kingdom and Katrana is not sure if the Kingdom is ready to act for a very simple reason.
King Varian Wrynn has become very depressed and inactive. King Varian has lost his will to rule and has delegated more or less everything to his marshalls and the House of Nobles. But Katrana points out that while they can handle many daily tasks, Stormwind has been built around a strong active King, many decisions and protocols require King Varian to be present or to sign the papers and now he mostly has been just locked within his chambers. If not for the young Anduin, Katrana isn't sure if Varian would still be alive. The death of her wife has struck the mighty Warrior-King down and even his friends or Katrana haven't managed to cheer him up.
How this is relevant to you outside of gossip is the simple fact that there are rumbling in the air that late summer an Alliance meeting between the Kings and Lords of the Alliance is scheduled to be held. If King Varian is unable or unwilling to travel, then the meeting will come to him instead. While not yet decided, Katrana wishes that you could participate in the meeting. That is if you have recovered enough for it.
Katrana finished the letter by wishing all the health to you and fast recovery, because the world without you around and shaking the status quo would be awfully dull.
Sincerely and with eternal friendship, Lady Katrana Prestor.
Her letter had made you smile. Even if you hadn't spent that much time with her, reading it made you relive your memories and her strong 'I get what I want' will was apparent in her writing. And she still wanted you.
The news from Stormwind were worrisome, but didn't require you to act in any way at least not yet, but you need to make it clear to the Stonemason refugees that they are in Alterac and under your care. You do not want to antagonise Alliance here in Lordaeron. The meeting did sound like an important opportunity to discuss diplomacy with the Kings and Lords, so you should probably attend.
It was a good letter, you felt fortunate to have an ally like her in Stormwind City, even if she was rather eccentric.
…
"Today is the day Malevus." You told her as you pushed yourself up from the chair and leaned on your desk.
"Today is what day?" Malevus asked you. She had spent the morning sparring with the soldiers and Sir Radan and hadn't yet had a chance to fix her messy hair or clothes. At least she had stripped her armour away.
