To your great relief, Doctor Doom and a good chunk of his bots kept chasing you. It shouldn’t have been a very comforting thought, seeing as how he was a major supervillain that could grind you into the dust if he caught up to you, but if he was here, then he wouldn’t be able to hurt any of the others in the park. At least, you hoped that was the case. The Morlocks couldn’t afford to suffer any more losses tonight.
Luckily, that little stunt you pulled allowed you to create enough distance between yourself and Doom that you were able to make it your destination without much trouble. It was an old metal refinery on the edge of town. It was unpopulated, unguarded, and otherwise unremarkable. But, Reed made it seem like this was an important factor in his plans, so you didn’t ask questions. You just drove straight into the facility, parked your car in a corner somewhere and waited.
And so did Doom.
He and Arcade hovered just in front of the refinery. The mad dictator seemed entirely content to allow his Doombots to tear the facility apart, rather than allowing himself to be possibly cornered.
For a second, that had you worried. But only for a second. Before the Doombots got a chance to do any real damage, you saw five people appearing behind Doom. The buff blonde one with the golden shield threw her magic-canceling disk at the metal masked menace, bouncing it off the back of his head and disrupting his levitation for a brief moment. And in that brief window, Nathaniel Richards fired a beam of energy from his chest directly at Doom. Doom somehow managed to block it with his hand, but he was momentarily distracted long enough for Gwen to catch her shield and slam it down on Doom’s face. She then used her full weight to force both of them down.
He struggled against her, unable to focus on keeping Arcade afloat, defending himself, and commanding his Doombots at the same time with his magic disrupted. And it only got worse when Valeria came out with N’Kalla, carrying a cube-shaped device that you thought was meant to disrupt the functions of both his suit and the surrounding Doombots. At once, both Doom and Arcade fell, while Gwen and the First Family struggled to bring down Doom.
You moved quickly, abandoning the car and launching yourself with a web-slingshot and a burst of flame in order to reach Arcade before he hit the ground. You grabbed him by the back of his jacket and swung him to the side, where you set up a web net to cushion his fall.
“We regret to inform you that your account’s been suspended. If you have any complaints, please direct them to your local police department.”
Arcade struggled weakly against the webbing for a second, before flopping back and letting out a frustrated huff.
Meanwhile, Gwen and Doom were wrestling with each other, with Gwen pushing the shield into him, and Doom attempting to push it down and away from his face.
“Don’t just stand there! Do something!”
