Well you expect his military service is in the past since he is a chubby fellow, though he isn't an older man the noble life benefits him well. But honest and well-meaning, enough to offer himself in exchange for a lady, so you have some marginal respect for that. A willing captive of yours rather than just a survivor you captured. You can't get too deeply into his impressions of history and politics of the region, hoping to learn what Farhana couldn't tell you. But just from his personal accounts you know he'll be a more useful intellectual resource from his experience, supposing you can make a cooperator out of him.
At least you can rely on, that as long as you keep Farhana and don't mistreat her, Ubaid can be relied upon. A curious arrangement but such is the concerns of nobility, which you are not a stranger to if you fancy yourself royalty.

With the sun set and the last remnants of day giving way to night, you stomp your way down the rocky slopes back to the beach. By now the townsfolk have returned home and it's dark enough that you wouldn't be easily noticed. One of the patrolmen even rode back to see you all off, and to better determine when the subsequent meeting again would be, to your preference. You have your ideas, and if anything need be changed you can always send Emil to carry your words... hopefully the locals will rid you of him finally. Now if you could just-
<span class="mu-s">"-AAAIIIEEE!"</span>
<span class="mu-s">"Augh, shut her up will you?! Stop screaming wench, you'll give us awa-"</span>
<span class="mu-s">"You dare speak out of order? Defend yourself, wretch!"</span>
While approaching the shore again though, Farhana starts screaming in panic which is quite the distraction. Emil in alarm tries to silence her by grabbing for the lady, whom Ubaid had been carrying to spare her feet. At Emil's actions though, both the Almhorad man and woman take dire offense, and Ubaid sets her down to draw his sword intending to strike Emil.
What a bothersome mess, these annoying little humans tiring you with so much to keep track of, and you don't expect tensions between these humans to vanish with time. Ironically though without Ubaid to protect her, Farhana hurries to you for safety, hiding behind your massive body as she continues to scream and panic. Following your attention to the cause of her upset, you pick her up for safety and to quiet her down, while moving back to the two men and catching Ubaid's arm before he can strike Emil down.
<span class="mu-s">"-what are you?! Set her down at on-"</span>
<span class="mu-b">"Not now little man... but ready your sword all the same."</span>
