Her older sister pokes her head in, dropping off some cookies. “Are you girls all doing alright?”
“Yess!” The uglies chime in unison.
Somehow, her sister had turned out the perfect specimen- pretty, and without a hint of extra fucked-up teeth. Soon enough, however, her sister would finally be out of her hair. Her parents had organized some marriage for her across the country. Finally, she’d be able to shine!
“How about you, Hermione? Is everything going well?”
Her sister’s warm smile was like the sun, far too warm and threatening to melt everything in its vicinity from its purity. “Yes, of course, my dear sister. There is no need to be so concerned on my behalf. Everything is going smoothly.”
Her sister nods, smiling, and leaves the room.
Ugly 1 fetches the cookies for the table, and Ugly 2 begins to dig in. Hermione sips at her tea and considers her options, as the uglies chat to one another about something or other.
