Once your briefing is done, she settles back into a chair to watch the virtual machine decrypt the file. You take your spot next to her.
"This file came from Hi-Commandramon, you said?"
"Yeah. Ryan told me about the doubts you two were having."
"Wind really wasn't happy..."
"He told me that too."
"I can see a possibility that it wasn't intentional. But it lines up too well. Our guard was down, and it would have been a way to destroy us all with no risk."
"... I'll ask him about it when I meet him. I assume there's gonna be-"
Ding! The machine finishes its decryption and spits out the file.
"No bug! It's really low-volume information too." Squid exclaims.
She taps on a remote, printing out the contents of the partition without interfacing with it directly. Then she hands it to you, making sure not to open it before you can get a good look. Once you unfurl the notepad file, you see a time and address. He wants a meeting, apparently.
"Anything special?"
"Just a location. Thanks, Squid."
"No problem. I'll wipe the machine now, if there's no protests?"
You shake your head. It was a simpler task than you expected. Doc would probably have been able to decode it just as easily, but Squid is the only Code Cracker you know of with a virtual machine that can handle it with this level of absolute safety. There's no way for malware or a tracking bug to crawl out of the simulated confines before she pulls the plug and deletes the entire setup.
Once the original file has been utterly incinerated, you get to your feet and begin stretching.
"I should probably go check on Phascomon."
"Yeah. If you go, let me know if ToyAgumon is on the way back! I'd get up, but I have some tasks to finish up."
You feel a burst of gratitude that she stopped in the middle of her tasks to not only help you with the Cutemon situation, but to hear out your whole story and decrypt a file for you afterwards. Even if things between you and the Dogs of War are tense, she's still treating you with the same warmth as always. Apart from that short moment where you upset her with the Digicore thing, of course.
