The charge forward was brutal and bloody, the beast of Bretonnia being a beast of carnage who crushed all beneath its hooves. Even the snow that began to drift upon the battlefield did not impede the two Bretonnians as they relied upon their thorough bred beast to bring them victory in this battle.
Lucian had to focus on fighting, swinging his weapon in a way that it killed those who posed some danger. The issue with undead the Knight realized was that they did not feel shock or awe at the attacks. Killing their fellow was simply killing one of them, they did not care about his life. It was only when Lucian was sure a grouping of them were close to death that some of them would fall apart naturally, as if the magic holding them together had loosened.
In a sense these creatures were puppetted as a group, if Lucian guessed the magics correctly.
As for the flying creatures Lucian realized that a great many of them were gone now. He would have thought they’d gotten into the Dwarfen Stronghold, but as he watched something with red hair fly out of a gunnery portal with one of them the Knight was not so sure.
“By the Lady! Lemera!” Shouted Gillot as Lucian slammed into the rear of the beast. The Impact being just enough for the horse to teeter over as Lucian saw the many spears piercing its chest. The Knight riding it had already began dismounting, narrowing avoiding the collapse of the beast upon his leg which would have been a death sentence.
Lucian glanced around him, noticing upon each of these warriors an suit of armor of some kind upon each of them. Many were Dwarfs, but some were Humans wearing the armor of Bretonnians and that of the Imperials!
Lucian glanced, he saw the Necromancer was only twenty five yards away from them. Yet he seemed so far now as the Knight realized he was among the Grave Guard. Creatures who were just like the one who gave Lucian his Nobility, but with luck Lucian noticed that none seemed to be carrying that accursed sword.
Gillot had quickly parried a strike from one of them while fighting the others off with his Lance. Lucian had quickly blocked as three of them came at him, the Knight only being back to defend from one as the other two slammed their dulled blades into his armor.
