*POOFT!"
"Ow..." she shook her head and looked around, more than grateful to see she'd landed on a bunch of cardboard boxes stuffed with what looked like Amber's old parkas.
"Bless your dad's credit cards, Hooters..." she dusted herself off, twisted her makeshift toothbrush hairstick to tighten her bun and slashed at the pitch black darkness with her flashlight to find her bearings.
She was in the basement.
Getting up, she knocked over a shelf with her head. "Ugh!"
*CLANG-clang-clang!*
A crowbar fell to the damp concrete floor and bounced around before settling in front of her feet.
"Well, if you insist..." she picked it up and shoved it in her backpack.

Stephanie noticed a small rectangular window right below the ceiling in a corner at the far side of the room, and started making her way to the north to take a peek outside when she stepped on something.
She looked down to find an old photo album, lying open on the floor.
"Huh...?" she picked it up to take a closer look; there was a bloodstained polaroid ripped in half on the page on the right. It was Amber's back yard, and judging by the decorations on the gazebo it was her birthday. She saw her 13-year-old self and the rest of the gang pointing and laughing at something or someone past the jagged tear on the paper...
She pulled away the photograph and stuffed it in her pocket.

She pulled up an old desk chair and propped it up against the wall right under the window, climbing up and standing on her toes before wiping the glass with her fist to look outside...
*THUD!*
A pair of size 23 work boots landed on the patch of grass beyond the window, and a small object fell to the ground and rolled over toward her. Thankful she hadn't aimed her flashlight outside, she covered her her mouth with her free hand and held her breath; her eyes wide with horror.
A few endless seconds later, the towering killer walked away and vanished into the storm; the light coming from his eye growing fainter before eventually getting swallowed by the darkness outside.
"Phew, that was close." Stephanie sighed in relief, raising her flashlight to see what the monster had accidentally dropped.
It was a bottle of Charlie Blue...
