The planet was like a parody of what a normal imperial world should have been. On an Imperial World the roads would have been paved and buildings built out of reinforced concrete. Men and women would be walking the streets without fear of either starvation or sudden death from forces outside of the planetary scope of things. There should have been minor commerce with vending guilds competing against one another to try and get the best price possible out of each other.
At the very least, in a world with this much population, the streets should have been lively.
When the Null Nobilite landed upon the planet that is now what they saw though.
Instead of clean streets and Imperial Engineers making sure life was well there were streets ripped apart. Many of the buildings were replaced with effigies to false gods or the streets with gaping mauls in the replacement of potholes.
People did not walk in safety, instead running as they were prey for the motorized cultists who acted as predators. These men laughed as they impaled a woman by the chest and held her high for everyone in the area to see. With a flick of his weapon he sent the corpse flying into the nearest toothy maul where that woman’s soul was lost forever.
This is where Lord Quintin landed, his hatred already ignited as his feet landed upon the ground. He could taste the Warp Energies in the air, as it tasted just like the planet of Xana. It was deathly powerful and threatened to overwhelm him if he was by himself. But he was not by himself as numerous Pariahs landed next to him readying their bolters and swords.
“FIRE!” Shouted the Pariah as swung his sword down. The bullets came rocketing at the riders causing many of them to explode on contact. Many more of them came around though and shrew slugger shots in their general direction.
Quintin and his team did not move for cover though as slugger shots were either absorbed by the Refractor Fields or Armor they all wore. Instead they charged the rider with weapons drawn and ready to fight.
The Pariah felt joy as one of those riders came close enough to him to feel the nullification effect. The man’s face quickly turned deathly pale before Quintin drove his sword through the vandal’s face and ate his soul.
