I got to thinking that not enough quests put you as a third party, just observing the story and making slight alterations. Most quests you are playing a protagonist character and the story revolves around you. I think If I ever make a new quest I would like to make the player a wandering spirit, guardian angel/devil, the protagonists cat or something. You can make big impacts on how the story develops but not as the central character. I think that as a basis for a quest concept has not been explored enough.
