<span class="mu-i">“STOP IT!”</span> Your shout is directed at the intruder, and you can’t stop the slight waver in your voice. “Freaking stop it already!”
Again, you feel your body lurch sideways, and you wonder if maybe… maybe you <span class="mu-i"><span class="mu-s">should</span></span> just forget. Forget what you’ve done, forget everything that’s happened to you. <span class="mu-i">Is</span> happening to you.
<span class="mu-i">Not your thoughts.</span> You mentally chant, barely hearing your own thoughts over those of the intruders, which is why you bring your teeth down on your inner lip, and it’s hard enough that blood begins to dribble out of the sides of your mouth.
For what it’s worth, the pain is able to drive away the mental onslaught from your mind– enough that you can distinguish your own thoughts once more. Because with the way they’d slithered into your mind, everything you’ve been feeling and hearing from the intruder really and truly felt like your own.
In the back of your mind, you know there’s only one way out. Letting your body go lax, you stop trying to fight the force that’s dragging you, allowing it to take you in its hold.
All at once, the ominous door flings open, and you’re thrown unceremoniously onto a flat ground, the white door slamming shut behind you.
