And so you did, also mentioning this to all of your wives. Only Mel and Ruby helped figure out the phenomenon, both believing that there might be some magical force influencing the calmness of the water. Ruby suggested the giant cephalopod was the culprit, as she'd read about some powerful monsters having certain types of magic that passively and unconsciously affected the environment they lived in.
Another consequence of you telling all of your wives was that they took the time to help you however they could. While it was obvious they were just using this as an opportunity to get some extra affection from you, confirmed by the passionate 'good luck kisses' each of them insisted on individually giving to you before you left, you had no room to complain about a bunch of hot women desiring you and wanting the best for you.
With one last wave at your wives from behind a magically reinforced glass porthole, you make the now sub-aquatic BoatMech descend into the propeller-churned ocean. You'd often tested the mech's submarine mode, going as far as installing a small sonar-like artifact within it to guide you in darker waters (which you'd tested yesterday, gauging its effectiveness). There was something exciting about using this new submarine form on an actual mission.
"Master, Master, do you read me?" Herta's voice came through the radio.
"Loud and clear." You replied, an amused laugh in your tone at how serious she sounded.
"Great!" Herta's smile could also be heard. "I'm at the radio station right now with most of the others. Anyway, Ruby-"
"I have the Orb of Farsight with me." Ruby interrupted. "From it I see my gallant Master's mech gliding beneath the waters."
Despite Herta making it manageable, the Orb needed a constant flow of mana to power it. This was distracting enough to warrant not taking it with you (you made a mental note of finding a way to look into ways to fully fix that issue one day), but thanks to Ruby's [Mana Contingency] she was able to hold an image of you for at least few hours. Not to say that the Orb was perfect, as sometimes it just led to a foggy water or complete darkness if made to look into certain areas with little to no light, though this could usually be remedied by pouring more mana into it.
Unfortunately the radio became less and less reliable the further you went in ocean. Nonetheless you had the assurance that your wives were able to watch your back as you dove deeper into the blue.
The initial excitement from using the submarine almost dwindled off into boredom as you went towards the monster's hideout at what felt like a glacial pace, though you knew that you were actually making dangerously good speed. Still you had a few sights that could keep you from being idle.
In the more shallower waters, closer to the dungeon's entrance, you find three makeshift shelters under hidden under blankets of handpicked coral. You assumed this was where Mara, Pearl, and Amelia stayed in while living near your estate.
