"What about Mitch Hawthorne? He's got decades on the force, I'm sure he'd be a great mayor after he retired."
Hawthorne shakes his head as Kimble laughs to himself.
"Decades? Maybe centuries." He chimes in, laughing harder.
"Can you both not be jackasses for 15 seconds?" Hawthorne asks, his face firm and grim but the hint of a smile playing on the corners of his mouth. "Don't forget I hold your fate in this department in my hand, Rook. So pick one."
"Yes sir, if this is for protection then I would pick Bruce Wayne."
"Is that so? Why?"
"Billionaire Playboys and Philanthropists tend to attract unwanted attention. As well as the fact he's the one hosting this event personally it gives a pretty clear line for any protesters looking to take up a personal grievance with him, he needs it."
Kimble chimes in. "Plus maybe we could get him to Philanthropize the good ol GCPD, I'm tired of carrying a sidearm that was top of the line in Vietnam."
Hawthorne nods to your words and opens a folder, plucking out a thin glossy photograph, he slaps a laminated photo onto the board, securing it in place with a magnet. He slides the folder to Kimble who pulls out his own photo of Harvey Dent. He passes it to Banks.
"Visualize this guys ass, and then practice your kissing, Banks. The mayor controls all our funding and policy so let's be good dance partners for him." He pats Banks on the back and leans back.
"The general gist is this DeLucia." He starts pointing lazily at the board. "We are the 'Roamers' pretty much all other beat cops at the event will be working the line or standing at fixed positions all over the event. Our job is to stay in the general area of our VIPs, this is not bodyguarding, we aren't their high school sweethearts working out when the best moment to hold hands is. We observe and orbit, if anything happens the senior officers will move to secure the VIP while our subordinates cover our exit and then moves on to assisting the general populace."
He gesticulates emphatically as he speaks, making sure to put emphasis on "Senior"
Hawthorne jumps in.
"As far as confirmed threats we have the usual. Posting online, some vaguely threatening emails and letters being sent to city hall, and someone claiming to be a witch from Central City who 'curses' this event." Hawthorne rolls his eyes holding up a bundle of papers. "So far we have deemed none of these critically threatening. Rules of engagement are different than usual too, kid's gloves. If we don't see an immediate threat to human life, then we stay non-lethal and contained as possible. The mayor doesn't want a bystander getting a whiff of OC Spray or hit by a stray round, if they do and it wasn't absolutely needed well. It was fun working with you."
Kimble slaps the desk and stands up.
"Well we should get to work planning our evening then. Unless you have any questions Officer DeLucia?"
>"No sir, Hawthorne will get me in the loop."
>"I do actually sir..." (Write-In)
