Hearing that my no head priestess had need of me again, I decided to go right away to the Psychic Church-Hall. When I arrived, I saw Taifu there, along with Hale.
[TAIFU] "A-Ah! You're both here! Good. I called for you both for a very important reason.
Both me and Hale managed to blurt out 'What seems to be the issue?' at the same time, and briefly glanced to one another in surprise.
Taifu looked down. She looked nervous... unusually disturbed by something.
She swallowed the feeling wracking her nerves and looked at us both.
[TAIFU] "W-Well... I just thought I'd tell you both... we priesthood of Pantocrator on the Moon have always had a very special ability. We can feel the presence of the souls of others."
'You can feel souls?'
[TAIFU] "Yes... our Lord has always given us the ability to detect and feel the Spiritua of others. The ability to feel their intent at times even, and to feel the presence. He did this so, if there ever came a day that we, as his followers, were targeted by the Emperor's fanatics, we would know and be able to protect ourselves."
[TAIFU] "So, I can usually keep track of the souls I come into contact with. It's just that... W-Well, I d-don't feel some of the s-souls that were here anymore. They're gone..."
Hale looked down. He had a knowing look. I did too. It was a currently touchy subject among the Bunker in light of recent events.
[HALE] "Our combatants. We lost a good deal of... good men."
'Because we don't have a method right now to secure one's soul after death... we can't stop them from going to the Lokas. Or the Afterseas."
[HALE] "They either get snuffed by Thandir, or..."
[TAIFU] "I-I-I know! I know! I'd rather not talk about it... All I wanted to do was... ask if you could both do well to find a way to... to, y-y'know..."
'I'll do everything I can. I just have to find a place to start.' I said.
Taifu nodded. But she raised a finger.
[TAIFU] "If it's any help to you... I heard one of the Namithene followers talking about how the Love Goddess has apparently protected the souls of her followers before."
I'll keep it in mind.
...But additionally, if I cannot find some way easily on Hainei... then I suppose I'll have to have a talk with "the Lord" that Taifu worships and see if he's willing to provide me some answer.
For now, Hale tells Taifu she's obviously stressed out over the whole ordeal. He tells her to take the day off and go get some rest and I head out with him. I tell Hale not to worry. I'll find some way and soon.
