This creature, which could only be called an Abomination from the deepest regions of hell, gave a chthonian bellow that shook the foundations of the earth that it walked upon. It began to lumber towards them all, its body slithering about like a snake while being carried by six unreasonably sized limbs that seemed to act as both hands and feet to the monster.
At its center, a skull of some monster that Lucian had never and wished to never meet, chomped at the chance of battle as thousands of ratheads began screaming their highpitched wails to their most foul of gods.
It was a sight that would impose terror upon even the most greatest of men. To shatter their will and remind them each that there were things far more terrible and far more abhorrent than the ugliest beastman who roamed the surface.
Yet Lucian did not shutter in fear. It was not because he was above the greatest of men. He was no Royalarch fo Bretonnia or Emperor of Man. He did not even carry a lofty title like Knight of the Realm or held a parcel of land to protect with his flesh and blood.
He simply accepted that such a creature, should it be his death, would be his death. He would face such a death with valor in an attempt to slay the mighty beast so that it would not terrorize his fellow men. He would slay it even if it would be his death!
“Everyone, I shall face that abomination! Slay the others, that Abomination from Hell shall be my Quarry! In the name of the Lady and of MORR!”
The Rune of Slayers blazed red hot as it felt the resolve that Lucian felt. It was a shuttering power that flowed into the core of the peasant knight as the two’s purpose quickly became one. For Slayers of the Dwafen Race, it was their goal to throw their lives at the largest and greatest monster in search of the mightiest death to be delivered to them.
Here their goals aligned, for while Lucian was no Dwarf he screamed the goal of every Slayer since time immemorial.
As the Abomination from Hell reared Lucian charged, his Bretonnian Blood denied him any chance of simply staying back as the monster came upon him. He will face it head on light a mighty Grail Knight of old. Face down the monster that crawled up from the depths of earth.
He shall send it back from the hell it crawled from.
