Knowing what you knew, purifying the cave was the priority.
The potential effects of mental corruption were the most dangerous part of the journey, second only to Oghlurk himself. The orc had somehow become the focal point of the growing darkness, yet it seemed to stagnate and fester.
None of your wives were against your decision, yet Herta and Gerty were clearly the most happy about your choice.
The goddess was best at clearing away corruption and decaying magic; spells, blessings, and the occasional divine beam, all were used to destroy the evil essence. Gerty had a similar ability, clasping her hands in prayer to purify the area or enemy, yet it was clearly less powerful than Herta's own divine power. Even Yumi—though you'd expect her to be reluctant to even do the bare minimum—set aside her differences with everyone to support your party against the corruption, mostly by using her own ghostly powers to disperse miasma. She went as far as to cover for everyone when Herta was exorcising any aggressive ghosts.
When you asked, Yumi explained her cooperation with the following: "Lo, the dark tendrils of corruption— nefarious shadows that creep and warp the minds of all creatures! This malevolent force, bringing such a wretched blight upon the realm, must be vanquished and prioritized with fervor! I shall cast aside any disputes and take upon a truce, for the light of justice must pierce through the evil that threatens the world's very essence!"
Meanwhile: You, Cattleya, and Bertha were fighting any monsters that were encountered. Decent progress was made, with monsters and undead falling like flies. You'd told Ayane, not wanting to neglect her with being a mere light, to help out the vanguard you and your 'fighting wives' made up. Ayane was surprisingly competent at killing off monsters by herself, her efforts while training starting to shine.
These beings, both old and new, were swiftly dispatched thanks to everyone's combined efforts.
Ambushes were done both by and against your group, the latter mostly from paralysis demons known as 'Shades'. According to Yumi, they were unnaturally active at this time. Thankfully you and your slaves were much more effective than any attempts from the monsters.
Things went pretty smoothly thanks to everyone's focus and work—monsters were slain and ghosts were exorcised as needed—so much so that the biggest trouble soon became the monotony, which was almost as suffocating as the stuffiness of the place.
Yet there were a few things that broke up the near mindless and near endless relaxation of purging evil and fighting weak mobs; the goblin village, most of the primitive shacks and cages were destroyed, bearing many fresh monster corpses, and not all of them were goblins.
