"Nah, I'm ready for this!" You enthusiastically affirm to Kelper. You get to do magic and fly, those are the coolest things ever!
"Let's get started, then." He flies down into the lower floor and grabs a few books, their covers clean and hiding any wear or tear.
And so for the next 10 days you train, or more accurately get tutored by Kelper in the basics of Ki. 3 hours per day are dedicated to reading the instructions of several authors in the field of Ki control, broken up with a lunch break or two as well as 30 minute intervals to meditate. Your eagerness from earlier faltered at first from the amount of studying and sitting around you had to do. How is it possible that someone could make learning how to shoot energy out of your hands and flying boring? But the appeal of actually pulling those moves off encouraged you to stick to it, memorizing the lessons of spiritual and physical balance, how one can safely and efficiently draw it out from within the body, and how an individual's own Ki is affected by their bodies of existence, mainly their physical, emotional, and spiritual state of being.
It was on the 3rd day that you were finally able to put the practice into action, and learned how destructive your power actually was. He took you to a distant rocky wasteland devoid of life, where he and other students he takes under his wing go to safely practice using Ki.
"Remember Kabra, focus deep within the core of your being, and tap into the energy that's lying beneath the surface." Kelper produced a small ball of Ki in his hands, around the size of his fist. "It will be small at first, but through precise control you will be able to handle larger amounts of energy." He then launched the energy at a painted rock, which fell apart in a small explosion, and instructed you to do the same to a similar painted rock in front of you.
You had started to gather your energy, focused on that tingly feeling you had in your body and redirected it to your outstretched arms, and manifested a pale pink sphere that grew to the size of your own upper body. You did it!
"Nice work, but try using less--!"
You were so excited at your accomplishment that you threw the volatile ball of energy at your own target, which you successfully obliterate, but...
