Fuck. What the hell? You hurt like you'd had a boulder thrown on your back.
Sitting up granted you a splotch of red on your knee. You raised a hand to your head- you were bleeding?
"OH, thank goodness!!"
A brown blur in front of you hopped up and down, jumping with joy. Next thing you knew you were on your feet.
Everything was spinning...
"Indie, I'm so sorry! I-I totally... I totally forgot that Yaniv was around..."
You heard a mutter. Then another. "F-forgive me, please? I kinda... I uh..."
Your vision began to clear somewhat. Your eyes confirmed what your ears had heard. Yep, this was Erna. "H-he kinda just came up t' me and showed off his cuffs, a-and bragged about how he'd 'earned' them, a-an'..."
She tapered off. Someone else butted in. Bud?
"Sorry buddy. Lemme apologize on behalf of all of Tumul Town for that. We've been tryna get rid of that guy for ages now. He was gone for a few months, so we just... assumed..."
Erna interrupted Bud. "Let's... let's go somewhere else! C'mon Indie."
You were too confused to object to or say anything. You just nodded and went along.

The pair of you sat on the town outskirts, atop a stump and rock respectively. There were bandages over the left side of your head. Your feet just barely touched the ground. You had a sandwich in your hands that Erna kept insisting you eat, but there weren't enough words to bring to mind exactly why you couldn't do that right now.
Eventually, however, you found them.
"What the fuck?"
Erna leaned over her rock and slapped you- lightly- and huffed. "Indie!! Watch your language!"
She couldn't stay mad for long. "A-and... eat your sandwich! We've still got a tour t'do. I'm not gonna let that brute ruin our day."
>"It's not safe with him in there. Let's do something else..."
>Sure. You still want to see those stalls, and the town is nice. There's no guarantee he'll show up again.
