>>5366004>>5366137>>5366211From your exposure to them so far, you are aware of the customs and religion strange to you, of these humans. And so while you might be able to build a shrine or temple yourself, even forcing some humans to do it for you, specifically asking persons such as nobility probably would result in refusal.
Though, your thinking is in the right place. If you could establish even a small following here (or anywhere really) then you believe the fate of your goddess would be easier to determine, or at least you would be able to narrow down what happened to her.
It's certainly something to consider, just with a little care taken before enacting it.
<span class="mu-s">"...does that mean I can go too?"</span>
<span class="mu-b">"No little man, no you can't."</span>
Hoping to take a cue from the leaving pair of nobles, you catch Emil trying to sneak off, gripping him with one hand and shaking till he gives up.

Allowing them till afternoon before you depart, Ubaid should have reached town by now with help, and so your business with the humans in the settlements about here is concluded. So you tramp along back to the sea, through thickets and underbrush along the declining cliffs until you reach the rocky slopes downward by late afternoon. Plenty of time along the way to think about your predicament, and what you should do next.
A particular concern about your goddess-mother of course, but influenced by internal conflict over the matter. Especially as to how hard you should be trying, when you're aware of the difference in outcome. Suppose you should save your goddess and even restore a balance of power to the sea, would that not mean simply a return to the way things were? Once again you would return to mother's service as her champion, and what a wonderful thing to be graced by her presence again, albeit at the cost of this... freedom, you have experienced. Maybe it would be better that she make your decisions for you, as she always had? This life of yours that you are developing, it's quite complicated and difficult you are coming to learn. Maybe too difficult, if you can't even handle dealing with some humans.
So much easier to just let mother take care of everything for you...
<span class="mu-s">"Oye Tana, you see them right?"</span>
<span class="mu-b">"Ah, it's Ubaid! Look at that, he kept his promise! And it looks like he's brought friends!"</span>
Absorbed in thought, it took Emil to bring your attention back, and point it ahead. You've reached the cove now, stomping down the rocky slope. There waiting for you already though is Ubaid and some companions, so he clearly took Farhana to safety and has returned at your request. As you had spoken with him before his departure, and asked in return for information about mages and some maps to take with you.
