The sound of whirring blades tearing through the atmosphere at obscene speeds rings lightly through your noise blocking headphones. Next to you a very nervous Hansel hugs himself in his seat and taps his feet.
Noticing this, you tap him with your elbow, causing him to jump, “Hey, why are you looking so jumpy? Scared to head into battle?” your voice comes with a twinge of static as it goes through the headphones.
He shakes his head, “N-No…”
You give him a hard stare, “O-Okay, yes a little…but that’s not why I’m in such a tizzy!”
“And why are you in a tizzy?” You chuckle as you mimic his accent.
“D-Did I ever mention I have a crippling fear of heights?” He asks.
“You didn’t and if that’s the case why did we decide to go by helicopter? We should’ve gone by boat.” You counter.
“Y-You’re right! You’re so right! Gretal! Can you tell me why we aren’t on a boat despite Derrick being so right!?” he shouts.
“Because going on a boat would make me seasick!” Gretal answers, she sits at the edge of the helicopter floor, her legs sticking out and relaxing on the landing skid as enjoys the rushing wind in her hair.
“There you go Derrick! The reason I’m on the verge of a panic attack is because Gretal can’t handle a little sea-sickness!” He explains.
“It’s not a little! You know if I’m on a boat for more than 5 minutes I start vomiting! And the island takes over 4 hours by boat to reach! Meanwhile it only takes 2 hours by air!” She counters.
“Yes! 2 hours of me resisting a heart attack everytime this flying coffin twists a little too hard! I swear, I have no idea how you two can stand being in these things for even a minute!” He shouts.
“I’ve had worse.” You answer recalling the crash of the flying airship you barely survived.
“And It’s fun! All the shaking and twisting is like a roller-coaster and the breeze is so nice! Why don’t you sit beside me Hans? The ocean is so pretty!” She invites.
“Y-You want me to get any closer to the edge than I already am!? Are you trying to kill me!?” He complains.
“You’ll never get over your fear if you don’t face it!” She argues.
“I’ll get over my fear when I’m back on the ground and away from any flying objects! I swear when we get out of this place, we are leaving by boat!” He demands.
“Oh Armis spare me no, just the thought of that is getting me queasy…” She complains.
“One can’t stand flights, the other can’t stand boats…I sure hope when you two get hitched, you never travel out of the country for honeymoons.” You state.
