One thing, he probably has very negative connotations about people being with Arty like that, given he either Crucio'd or just pulped their dad/caretaker for trying to molest her.
And yeah Apollo needs some patience, not dumb but probably really emotionally stunted. I am sure Arty has her own hang-ups as well which we will discover.
