"I forgot that those facilities wouldn't have a CONCEPTUAL REFRACTION unit. We invented them, not old D-Corp."
[SEEKER OF THE CITY] He's referring to a specialized piece of equipment meant to filter and dilute the effect of anomalous phenomena. It would've probably suppressed any powers you, Max and Benjamin had too.
[KIARA SEEKER] "That piano in there was playing a weird melody too. I could feel it worming into my head, had to keep an eye on Benny and Max to make sure they didn't crack." Kiara beeps out a low 'sigh'. "Combined with the build up of anomalous energy in there?"
"Yeah. Not a good time." Seath chuckles wryly. He has now been 'dolled' up to look as horrible as the rest of you. Hell, you say he blends in even better with his gauze-wrapped arm and eye.
"Welp! Let's get moving." You don't have time to dick around forever after all. As if the PARADIGM in your pocket heard this, it immediately activates. You look down at your hand and it's akin to stained glass tinted with your skin tone. Everyone else in your group is also under the influence of this bizarre anomalous camoflague.
It's surreal to look at but anything to help you hide from the spooks is wonderful.
>-1 CHARGE on A PERFECT NOTHING!
Seems like POI was right on how aggravated the spooks were. You already heard five pairs of footsteps storming over to the facility you just left only thirty seconds after you started walking.
You tell your allies to keep moving while you quickly check to see what the spooks are doing.
The five of them are shockingly not in silver uniforms. They have taken to wearing cloaks and rags similar to the ones your group used to disguise themselves. Their faces are still censored with tell-tale static, of course, but they're adapting quickly to your tactics this time around.
One of them has a nasty bruise on his head with caramel brown blood still freshly running down it. In his hands is a familiar baseball bat snapped in half. It's covered in red, non-augmented blood.
Guess the thugs didn't make it. At least they were a distraction.
<span class="mu-s">"I told you sending Agent Zayi to deal with it all by herself was-"</span>
<span class="mu-s">"She had a bomb she was supposed to use! Like a super powerful grenade! Worst case scenario is that she would've blown herself up too!"</span>
<span class="mu-s">"You swore you saw them leaving with Seath right about now?"</span>
<span class="mu-s">"Yeah. Seath looked pretty hurt last I saw."</span>
<span class="mu-s">"They couldn't have gone far! Fucking look for them!"</span>
Oh shit.
You quickly rejoin your group and pray to GOD that A PERFECT NOTHING buys enough time for you to get to the next location. You whisper-yell this to Kiara and she quickly gets the hint.
Kiara routes your group through a series of interconnected alleyways that she intentionally picked because they are INCREDIBLY easy to get lost in. If it wasn't for the maps Max brought, even she might've gotten lost down this route.
Distant footsteps can be heard rushing the opposite direction you went. You're safe. For now.
