>>5469803Arriving in Ailell, you find that the stories you’ve heard about the Valley of Torment pale in comparison to seeing the real thing for yourself. The sky you can see that isn’t obfuscated by dark clouds is a horrifying crimson color. Rivers of fire flow through the terrain, with occasional geysers raining down molten lava onto the land. The heat is oppressive, and you find that your breathing is becoming labored the deeper within you go. The Blackwings speed has slowed down to almost a halt as they struggle to traverse through the hellish valley. Your mind wanders to Sebastian, off out on his mission. Always wearing his hulking plate armor, the man would likely have died of heat stroke by this point. Did the “Javelin of Light” Anemone spoke about really cause all this?
>“How much farther are we from the established meeting point?” You ask Judith.“Little more ways up ahead. There’s a large land mass that’s relatively safe from the rivers here. The supply crates should be waiting for us there.”
>“They’ve been left out in the open?”“What? You think anyone’s coming here looking for treasure?” On cue, a geyser of lava erupts nearby, startling many of the company’s pack animals and causing an uproar of animalistic panic and screaming.
Eventually, you find the location that Judith spoke about. Sure enough, several crates have been stacked together against the side of a cliff wall. The ground you’re standing on is far enough from the rivers of fire that you no longer need to worry about any further explosions, but you’re still a long way away from comfortable.
“Well, we’ve done our part.” Corrine coughs, her face slightly dirty from an influx of soot in the air. “Where are the Knights?”
“Seteth knows the time and place. They should be here soon. Given how desperate they are, I don’t think we’re in danger of being stood up.” Judith answers.
The Blackwings stay put, waiting for the Knights of Seiros to arrive over the horizon at any point. Everyone is becoming impatient though, yourself included. You understand now why no guards were left to watch the supplies. Staying in this place for any extended period of time is completely intolerable. You’d rather be back in Edmund Woods than stay another minute here. Eventually, the idea to scout ahead and see if the Knights can be found is brought up. Because of the nature of the terrain, it would be far easier for a Pegasus Knight to scout than someone from Caleb’s squad. The choice left to you, you decide the following:
>A): Blair will scout ahead (DEX x 2: Roll between 1-68 for Success.) (Use Yara’s Premonition?: +20 to Success)>B): Send Ava to scout ahead>C): Send Shelley>D): Send Diana>E): Have everyone stay put and continue waiting
