>>5952001You spent a whole year on Holy Luna, in the company of the lunar eladrin who dwell there, studying in the sacred academy of a living god with those high elf natives who she and her mother and sisters directly created. You learned MANY things—things that, admittedly, the so-called seer before you DOES seem to be alluding to. You learned about a coming 'Age of High Magic’, brought about by growing complexity of beings on Earth and the spiritual-magical interactions between them. But what, specifically, does Nenanias mean about evidence in his favour?
Then, suddenly, you remember it—a moment buried in the lunar liquor as cosmic ‘soma’ which followed it… A secretive exchange with Mithel, one of the eladrin servants of your own ancestral patron deity, Princess Miannie.
‘To counterbalance and offset the suspected interference by the forces of Darkness… those apparatuses devoted to amplifying and directing precognitive abilities of Earthly seers are being given additional attention, and divine wisdom is being passed down from on-high,’ Mithel had told you. ‘We normally limit the clarity of images… But under the circumstances…’
You’d asked what those circumstances were, of course, and Mithel had obliged you, and it was for that reason you later imbibed so heavily in vain effort to forget:
“The Gods are afraid.”
You snap back to the present, in shock. The words the blind sage just spoke, they are the EXACT words Mithel had shared with you!
“Your ‘visions’ are the product of the… The ‘Akashic Record’?”
“AN Akashic Record, technically,” the seer says. “There are many records of the past, if one knows by what means to access them. But the picture is clear to me now, yes… Clear in a way which I wish it had been, once upon a time.”
“Well, I’m lost,” Pearce mutters.
“Oh, thank the gods!” Costella blurts out, laughing nervously. “I thought it was just me!”
Command Qinfir just watches the exchange, face placid but eyes darting back and forth with each exchange of words between you and your accuser.
“What did you see?” you ask quietly.
(What is it that the gods so fear?)
“I have seen much,” Nenaias answers. “In the past, I have seen in whole those events which I once saw only in part… Tragedies, which I count have forestalled, prevented. The fall of two great houses: that of the Houses of Paladin King Axios and of the House of Yosef, their degradation and destruction.”
Axios, the Paladin King, noble ancestor of Queen Ekaterine who sent you here. The House of Yosef… The house from which the Green Knight, Lord Heinrich Yosef, was born; Lord Yosef, the celebrated adventurer-lord who first exposed the Reptilian conspiracy in Hawksong, and then seemingly fell prey to it. But what ABOUT them?
“Wait, I know you!” Costella gasps, pointing at the sage. “Your name… Your magic… You’re the guy! Like, the elf guy who was in The Green Knight’s party!”
