Oh no she DOESN’T! Harnessing the last surge of energy you have, you scurry like the wind through the snow and tackle the scale-covered scout mid-escape!
“Woah-h-HEY THERE, EASY!” Sputters the Skog, clearly not expecting such a physical reaction, “R-Rook, I-”
It’s not easy to give Volka an appropriate hug, but you manage to wrap your arms around her waist, so it kinda works out! It doesn’t hurt that she stops to make it easier on you either!
“H-hey…” She mutters, her confused voice dropping to a whisper as an equally-perplexed expression plasters across her face, “A-Ant…C-come on…”
Nuh-uh, you reply, tightening your grip, she’s getting a HUG whether she likes it or not! Lord knows she could use one!
“I, well…” Stammers the Skog as her tail rapidly swishes behind her, “I do um… I do like it, actually.. A-and I can use one, yea…” Her bulging yellow eyes blink! “A hug, that is! Errr, st-stack ‘em up, Rook! H-haha..”
You feel a meaty arm wrap around you as you continue to hold Volka captive. She might tower over you, sure, but as intimidating as the tusked terror is, you can feel her trembling in your embrace.
Just so she knows, you begin, you’d choose to be a Skog if you had to choose.
“Pfft,” She scoffs with a roll of her eyes that’d make Rezzie proud, “Th-that’s sweet, Rook, but-”
But she was right, you interject as you meet her gaze from below, she can be the one to change someone’s mind! And you don’t care if you’re a Human, Skog, or Maakar–you’ll do whatever it takes to help her… and that’s a promise!
