Even when you're inside the partition, you can almost feel the building rattling from Gigadramon's savage attack. You look around and get your bearings after returning your partner's weapon. The shaking turns out to be from your own legs. You make sure that there are no threats in the room, then allow yourself to collapse next to Astamon, who's breathing heavily. The room is hot, making it a poor place to rest.
You're startled by a loud error noise from the entrance. Astamon aims his weapon at it, watching as the blue light turns crimson and bulges inwards. Try as it might, Gigadramon can't load itself in while Astamon is occupying this space. The partition is secure for the time being.
<span class="mu-s">"Holy- that thing was big! If only..."</span>
He clenches his fist. You feel distinct frustration from him. He sorely wishes he could have fought and defeated that Digimon, but after fighting so many opponents, he's spent. You're not even sure you have enough energy for your final battle.
"Hey. Astamon."
He glances over to you.
"It's okay. You don't have to defeat ALL of them."
<span class="mu-s">"I do! How am I supposed to be the strongest if I can't even handle that guy?"</span>
"You can handle him! Just not after so many fights in a row. You've defeated more Digimon today than all our previous missions put together. I think that's plenty strong already."
<span class="mu-s">"Yeah, yeah... I-"</span>
You keep talking, cutting him off.
"It's only been a month or so since you managed to Digivolve to Astamon. You're still discovering new abilities, like flying. How long do you think Gigadramon has been an Ultimate?"
<span class="mu-s">"Pretty long..."</span> He grumbles.
"So come on, don't mope about not defeating every enemy. It was never practical in the first place. We just have one more guy we need to fight, then we can get home."
He sighs and settles down next to you.
<span class="mu-s">"Okay."</span>
