Malcador’s manner changed from the winner of a competition to a concerned thinker, “So you really do think that. That we are not here in this world forever.”
“Those who think otherwise are fools.” TalOS told Malcador without mercy.
“You know that even your brothers such as Horus do not see that future.” Malcador seemed to want confirmation of those words.
So TalOS gave it to him, “Then Horus is a fool.”
Malcador gave a small chuckle while shaking his head, “Luther, you have already been comforting your brothers since the Binding, or am I misremembering?”
“Your memory is as sound as your ability my Lord.” The Blind Astartes answered as he gave a steady nod, “If that is my duty then it shall be.”
“There will be no secret to you.” TalOS declared as he looked upon Luther, “For you are the Watchman of Souls. Guide your brothers through their journey to ultimate enlightenment and take on their demons. If they hide anything from you, then they will die.”
TalOS could feel Malcador nodding his head as the face upon Luther morphed that smallest bit, “I am to carry out the greatest of punishments?”
“And the authority to investigate them. You have reached the end of your journey that your brothers must also take. Make sure your brothers know the path and make sure they do not fail their own souls.” TalOS took a second to think to himself before declaring, “If a poison is among their ranks, then this entire project will shatter. We cannot let the enemy creep in at a time like this or in the future.”
There was a long moment as TalOS stared in the blank eyes of his son. And then, for a single moment, he felt his son stare into his very soul as a flare of psychic energy pierced the Blackstone’s Aura.
“I understand Father. I shall do as you ask of me.” He gave a small bow before returning to his brothers.
“Their foundation will be sound, TalOS.” Malcador told him as he stepped forward to be close to TalOS, “I will make sure these… Keepers are held in close regard.”
“Thank you.” Was what TalOS said as he made his way to leave.
