>>5788921Arms wrapped around you, clad in overlarge sleeves of a mage’s robe. You turned in thee embrace to face their owner, finding yourself nose-to-nose with Izirina Henzler, lips almost brushing hers. You gasped, but didn’t pull away, captivated again by those eyes—eyes with slit pupils, like a cat, like a lizard.
“Why can’t I see you?” you whispered.
You couldn’t, either. Her eyes were plainly visible, but the rest of her was hidden, obscured as if by total darkness—darker even than night.
“Because you won’t share the light with me,” she answered, plainly and factually, not sounding offended nor pleading.
Without hesitation, you lifted your hand behind her head and, stretching your digits out, spoke the word of power to summon forth <Faerie Fire> by which to see… And you saw.
Izirina Henzler was naked.
Her robes fell from her body to pool around her feet. You stared down at those robes and followed her brown skin up her body… But it was not as it ought to be. It was a body warped and twisted, like knotted wood, and full of hollows and holes in the strangely-stiff flesh. Through those holes slithered serpents, snake of various sizes and genera. Her torso was an open cavity, ribs ripped open and splayed, bloodless, while the reptiles coiled about her lungs, her heart, sunk teeth into her womb and her liver and pumped poison from dripping fangs into her. Her breasts were without nipples, smooth-topped sacks that pulsated like some sort of strange and alien glands. And her face… Her face was that of the false, imitation jackalope which you had created, antlered and furry, save for those staring, glowing, lizardlike eyes.
“I don’t like to be seen like this…”
She paused.
“Do you see me?”
What did you feel?
