>>5595570Try as you might, Hypatia’s experience with staves is far more than your resistance to magic can handle. Your voice, as well as your ability to access the spells at your disposal, is completely stifled as the effects of the Silence staff settle in.
>Blair Silenced (3/3 Turns)Still, none of that matters. You need neither your magic nor your voice to make short work of these enemies. So long as you hold your Blessed Lance, you can cut a path forward and send these evil creatures back to hell. The first Mogall you fall upon hardly has time to act upon exiting the glass chamber it was imprisoned in. Your spear punches a burning hot hole through its eye, skewering the monster and sending it to fall in a head on the floor dead.
>20 XP Gained! (40/100)With your voice muted, you’re unable to give orders to the rest of your party. Fortunately, they’re able to get the message well enough and push forward towards the end of the hall. Uriel once more follows your lead and plunges his spear into the second Mogall you had left behind. You’re able to effectively eliminate the second set of Mogalls before they’re able to inflict their area of effect damage on your party. Likewise, the third set of Mogalls that had been released are quickly dealt with thanks to Lysithea’s magic and a few well-placed arrows from Ashe. The Blackwings are then able to continue pressing further up the hallway to meet the incoming Fenrir. However, with Sebastian deep in slumber, you find yourself taking his place in the frontline.
Up close, the large wolf looks as though it could be as tall as you if it stood on its hindlegs. It jumps up and lashes at you with its sharp claws, catching you across the shoulder and ripping off one of your pauldrons in a spray of blood. Gritting your teeth, you take a step back and thrust your spear forward, catching the wolf in it’s open mouth as it attempts to take a bite out of you. The holy enchanted Blessed Lance tears through the Fenrir just as easily as it did the Mogall, and the creature all but disintegrates at the touch of your weapon.
>Blair -7 HP (39/56)>20 XP Gained! (60/100)Much like before, your comrades are able to make short work of the beasts as they continue moving forward as one cohesive unit through the cramped hallway. Corrine, you notice, has been forced to focus on restoring Sebastian back to consciousness, foregoing her ability to heal the rest of the group.
“Well don’t just stand there, Hypatia!” Diogenes’ voice echoes. “Do you know how long it took for us to make those Fenrirs? Not to mention finding enough suitable squids large enough to fit a Crest Stone in! Hurry up and do something! Show me that Agarthan pride you love so much!”
