[ ETERNAL FORTRESS OF KARMA ]
I stood in the radiance of the Emperor's Sun. His light soaked into Hainei's flesh every day from above, and without him we would have no light or sun to illuminate these verdant lands. The valleys ahead served as pastures even this close to the Scourge Fronts of Shengesia, becoming a paradisaic threshold for all manner of life as absolute proof of the Yellow God's dominion.
It made me consider for a moment, that the same undisputable deity that steers us all in his grand game of fatalism has made the most of any works in Hainei. One pushing all towards one fate was capable of such grandeur. Why? Oh why? Why must we consign to one vision in such control? Why must tyranny be alright? Why not simply let live and give works unto the Hainei selflessly?

Ahead of me, in this lambent land, I saw a statue of the Xanthous Emperor standing above the hills. It was a great monument erected in his honor faced towards the direction of the Great Deep, as if to send a message to the Dark One forwardly that his force shall never pass this monument or topple it. For surrounding the erection was walls, and walls, and walls. Castle solars dotted the horizon, the Eternal Fortress of Karma lay ahead of me. The greatest chokepoint in Shengesia. A place almost as impenetrable as the Capital proper.
These gallant walls were occupied by the Samurai, the Wei, and the Temple all, for every warrior stood guard to ensure the safety of the rest of the continent here. The Afterseas had no hope of amounting much offensive in Shengesia so long as the Fortress of Karma stood.
That was why it was considered 'Eternal'. They did not believe it could fall to anything.
I walked between the walls where above were posted the Wei, looking down at me and other visitors coldly as we shuffled into the civilian area. There was limited travel inside allowed simply because the statue of the Emperor was a site of pilgrimage. The faithful came to pay their respects. I came for a different reason.
