“Will that keep you satisfied?” Adok asked as he glanced towards Lucian, “Watching your fellow Umgi get killed by bastards that you don’t even know about.”
The Knight could not deny that there was a small welt of discomfort to the situation. To simply look over it without giving it a much greater effort was more then enough to cause such an irritation.
He remembered one of the first villages he saw. The place was attacked by a Robber Baron who was trying to sack the village just to enrich himself. It was his duty as a Knight to the people of Bretonnia. Such was why he was on this journey, to seek out those that were threatening to damn the realm into the hands of Nagash.
If he could not save those people, like those from this village, then he should at least kill whatever caused this to happen.
“You’re right, we cannot ignore this.” Lucian declared as he looked out into the sky above, “Do we have any method of tracking whoever did this down? Are there no trails remaining?”
“Weeks of time have passed by since the death that occurred within this village.” Spoke the Skink as he walked up next to them, “Bok can find those who are gathering, however. What has happened here was done by a group numbering many times the warmbloods living here. Tee-Nee-Tyny understands that they are miles east of here, if Lucian wishes to deviate our course for it.”
“I do.” Lucian said now that steel has been made within his soul, “We will face whatever is out there. Face it down and learn the truth.”
As if the creature understood Lucian’s words, Bok had begun his walk outside the doors of the church. The Skink quickly falling from the beams above their heads upon his companion with a soft flump.
The two warriors, Lucian and Adok, followed the two out and got onto their respective steed and wagon. The three groups heading off in the direction of the scent of an army.
